Note
Son William died aged 4, buried Aberdare ‎(Aberdare PR)‎, leaving his daughter, Jane Margaret Maud Davies as his only successor. His will published Aug 6 1910, ‎(see image file Family Davies - Will of Dr.David DAVIES of Aberdare)‎ leaves all - approx. £80,000 - to his daughter after making provision for his wife during her lifetime.

The town's leading medical practitioner throughout the greater part of the nineteenth century was Dr. David Davies J.P., F.R.C.S. He was born at Cwmaserbren Farm, Rhondda, in 1821 and came to Aberdare in 1844 when the parish had a population of some 7000 and only one other doctor. Dr. Davies became the Medical Officer of Health in 1854, a position which he held until his retirement in 1909. He also had his own medical practice which 'extended pretty generally over the whole parish'. He lived at Bryngolwg, Wind Street ‎(since 1922 the Aberdare United Services Club)‎ and his surgery was at the rear of the house. Dr. Davies married a daughter of Joseph Coffin of Merthyr Tydfil and was Thomas Wayne's brother-in-law.

Also Jane ‎(wife)‎ died 14th January 1907 aged 81.

Also David Davies FRCS, Bryngolwg, Aberdare, born 12th May 1821, died 17th March 1910, aged 88 years.

Also Jane Margaret Maud Davies born 31st October 1865, died 6th February 1931, buried Belmont Abbey, Hereford.
